It’s a rematch of last year’s Wild Card game! Maybe the Orioles can actually win this one, because, ya know, it doesn’t matter at all! Heyo!
But anyways, the Good Birds will take on the Junk Trash Birds in whatever sewer the Orioles play in. It’ll be Mat Latos getting the start, with Joe Biagini getting as many as three innings in relief, against Wade Miley and a pretty full Baltimore squad. (I wonder if Zach Britton will get into the game or not? ha ha ha lol)

News and Scuttlebutt

I’m not usually one to get too worked up over which former players are working in which organization, because I don’t know anything about them as people, where they’re at in their lives, where they want to live, or what the hell the teams actually do (holy shit I’m very quickly devaluing any validity I have, hey?) but I agree, this does seem strange. Roy Halladay is a Blue Jays legend, and based on what we know about him, his demeanour, work ethic, and how he reinvented himself after a difficult start to his career, he would make an excellent coach or instructor type. Oh well, at least he’ll be wearing a Jays cap in Cooperstown.
If you frequent this site, surely you saw, but Stoeten touched yesterday on how Devon Travis may actually be living up to that worrisome ‘injury prone’ label. He’s still having difficulties on the knee he hurt during last year’s playoffs, which was never supposed to be anything major. But here we are, staring down the very real possibility that Travis, a key cog in Toronto’s offence, may miss time yet again this season. Not good! Not good at all!
