It’s the first day of spring and the weather network says sunshine in Dunedin, but I’m hearing there’s a chance of rain. Fuck that’s corny, but Josh Donaldson! He’s back! For the first time in 2017, the MVP will suit up for the Blue Jays, which is a huuuuuuuuuuuge positive for the team just two weeks away from opening day.
Good news after good news on the injury front. As we know, Donaldson was step in today’s game as the designated hitter, and will likely, so long as everything goes well, play in the field later this week. Devon Travis still isn’t quite ready for a major league game, but he isn’t far behind, as he’ll be taking the field today in a minor league game at second base. Knock on wood, of course, but it looks like the Jays could be rolling into the regular season completely healthy, which is huge considering how strong the American League East is this year.
If you don’t have a vesting interest in the WBC this week, cheer for the United States to beat Japan tomorrow so that Marcus Stroman can make an appearance in the gold medal game. Or don’t! Live your life!
