A big batch of renovations is coming to the home of the Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers Center.

The $300-million worth of renovations will all be privately funded, and are set to “transform Rogers Centre from a stadium into a ballpark,” the club said in a press release.

The work will be done in a few phases over the next two to three offseasons. It will feature upgrades to primary fan areas in the 100, 200, 500, and field level seating sections.

The first phase of the project will be done by opening day 2023 featuring the creation of social spaces that will include patios, drink rails, bars and viewing platforms in the 100 and 200-levels.

Bullpens for the Jays and away teams will be elevated and surrounded by new bleacher seats and viewing areas.

“We are committed to building a sustainable championship organization for years to come, and this renovation to Rogers Centre will give new and lifelong Blue Jays fans a ballpark where they can proudly cheer on their team,” said Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro, as transcribed by The Athletic. “This project would not be possible without the support of Edward Rogers, Tony Staffieri, and our Rogers ownership group, who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Blue Jays, both in fielding the best team to win championships, as well as in the infrastructure needed to create a modern ballpark for our fans and players.”

More work will be done at field level, too, including players’ family room, the players’ weight room and staff locker rooms.
