Last week, Kendrys Morales drank some of Mike’s Secret Stuff and now he’s hitting fucking everything out of the park. He’s currently one more game with a home run shy of tying Major League Baseball’s all-time record for consecutive games with a bomb. Can he go deep again tonight?!

The Jays are in Baltimore tonight to face the Orioles. In case you weren’t aware, the Orioles suck all kinds of ass. The Jays handily swept Baltimore last week, which played a key role in Morales’ streak. It all began inconspicuously last Sunday when Morales hit a homer in a blowout loss to the Yankees. Then he went and homered in all three wins over the O’s and all three of last weekend’s games against Philly.
Starting tonight for Baltimore in the series opener will be David Hess, who actually fared the best of any O’s starter in last week’s series. He pitched that Wednesday afternoon game against Thomas Pannone and didn’t allow a run until the seventh inning when, yep, you guessed it, Morales went deep to break the 0-0 tie.
Hess is 2-8 on the season over the course of 15 appearances (13 starts). He’s got a shitty 5.50 ERA but has historically been good at keeping the ball in the ballpark. He’s allowing two bombs per nine this year in the Majors and, for his career as a pro, is allowing one bomb per nine over 576 innings.
We’ve seen Kendrys smack a homer off of Hess already during this streak, so there’s no reason to believe he can’t do it again. That said, I’m somewhat worried that Buck Showalter, being a total bag of dicks, will tell his pitchers to pitch around Morales so that his horrendous team isn’t yet another anecdote on another team or player’s accomplishment this season. Would you be surprised?!
