Would you look at that, the Blue Jays have selected their first high school player on day three!
With the 544th overall pick, the Blue Jays selected Chase Brunson, and outfielder from San Clemente High School.
Unlike college players, high school statistics can be hard to find, plus the stats must be taken with a grain of salt.
There is some video of Brunson, such as him hitting this homer back in March.
There’s also this bases-clearing triple, which you can watch here.
It’ll be interesting to see if he signs, but as of yet, we have no way of knowing how much of the bonus pool remaining. Brunson is committed to Loyola Marymount University, and the slot value for picks 11-20 is $150,000.
