No player in the Toronto Blue Jays’ farm system broke out like Dub Gleed in 2026.
Shortly before the start of the minor league season, the Blue Jays acquired Gleed for the recently DFA’d Leo Jiménez. The corner infielder’s season was nothing short of spectacular, quickly becoming a top position player prospect in the system, ranking as our 19th-best Blue Jays’ prospect in the 2026 end of season countdown.

Dub Gleed

Position: First baseman/third baseman
Bats: Right
Born: September 1st, 2002
Acquired: Trade with Miami Marlins
Previous ranking: N/A
Gleed had a strong junior season in college, slashing .351/.469/.550 with six home runs in 163 plate appearances with the University of California – Irvine in 2024. That led to the Miami Marlins selecting the corner infielder in the ninth round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
He didn’t begin his professional season until 2025. Starting the year with the Florida Complex League team, Gleed slashed .250/.478/.375 with no home runs in 46 plate appearances. Upon his promotion to Single-A, Gleed slashed .238/.384/.307 with a home run in 126 plate appearances, then hit another home run in his 102 plate appearances in Double-A.
All told, Gleed slashed .252/.391/.347 with two home runs in 277 plate appearances, giving him a 124 wRC+. At that point, it was clear that Gleed was a hit-over-power type of prospect. “Was”, being the keyword here.
Following the trade, Gleed started his 2026 with the High-A Vancouver Canadians. Over 46 games, the corner infielder slashed .269/.348/.463 with eight home runs in 202 plate appearances, with a 9.4 BB% and 20.3 K%. Gleed’s season really started to take off after a promotion to Double-A, as he slashed .291/.374/.492 with 11 home runs in 289 plate appearances.
Playing in the corner infield, Gleed desperately needed some more slug. After hitting just two home runs in 2025, the Blue Jays unlocked Gleed’s power, as he was tied for the third-most home runs in the system in 2026. 
After a good 2026 season, Gleed has become a good all-around hitter with an average arm for third base. Being a below average runner, there’s little chance for Gleed to move to the outfield, meaning the 24-year-old’s bat has to continue to progress in 2027.
