<p>Veteran right-hander Chris Bassitt will toe the rubber in the series opener against Baltimore. Bassitt has been dominant pitching at home, posting an 8-0 record with a 2.76 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 88 innings (15 starts) at Rogers Centre in 2025.</p>
<p>The 36-year-old struggled mightily in his last outing against the Orioles, allowing six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk in 2 1/3 innings. He did pitch well in his other meeting with the Orioles, holding them one run on eight hits over six innings in a home start back in March.</p>
<p>The Orioles will counter with left-hander Trevor Rogers. The southpaw has been one of the few bright spots in what&#8217;s otherwise been a disastrous 2025 campaign in Baltimore. Rogers is 8-2 with a sparkling 1.51 ERA, a 0.87 WHIP, and 87 strikeouts in 15 starts this season.</p>
<p>Rogers throws four pitches that have all had a great deal of success in 2025. His fastball, changeup, slider, and sweeper have held opponents to a sub-.200 batting average this season. His slider and sweeper have been particularly dominant, boasting whiff rates of 39.7% and 36.8%, respectively.</p>
