A fresh arm is joining the Toronto Blue Jays ahead of Thursday&#8217;s double-header versus the Chicago White Sox.
Jay Jackson has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo to serve as Toronto&#8217;s 27th player for both games at Guaranteed Rate Field, the club announced prior to first pitch on Thursday.

The 35-year-old, who re-signed with the Blue Jays last March after requesting his release from a minor-league contract, has made four appearances with the big-league club this season, posting a 1.59 ERA and 4.53 FIP with six strikeouts across 5.2 innings.
Jackson&#8217;s most recent outing with Toronto occurred on June 5 versus the Houston Astros, when he allowed just two hits over 2.2 scoreless innings while punching out four in relief of Alek Manoah, who&#8217;s returning to the majors on Friday in Detroit.
The veteran righty has logged 24.2 innings in 21 appearances with the Bisons, posting a 6.57 ERA, 5.04 FIP and a 24.8 per cent strikeout-to-walk rate difference. He has also converted a pair of saves for the franchise&#8217;s triple-A affiliate.
If optioned back to triple-A following Thursday&#8217;s double-header, it will not count against Jackson&#8217;s total for the season, meaning he can still be sent to the minors two additional times before requiring waivers.
