There’s a new sheriff in the Toronto Blue Jays’ farm system, and he’s a hard-hitting shortstop who is just 19 years old.

With Trey Yesvage pitching earlier today against the Baltimore Orioles, he has officially graduated from the MLB Pipeline Top Prospect List, so all the names behind him are going to shuffle forward. This puts JoJo Parker at the #1 spot, with fellow infielder Arjun Nimmala and left-hander Johnny King rounding out the top three, respectively.

Heading into tonight, Parker had suited up in 42 games for the Single-A Duendin Blue Jays. The former first-round pick from last summer was tested out of the gate in the Jays system, bypassing the Florida Complex League and heading straight to Dunedin to begin his pro career.

Across 156 at-bats, the left-handed bat owns a .237/.381/.378 slash line with 13 doubles, three home runs, and 23 RBIs while finding himself towards the top of the Blue Jays lineup regularly. Parker has also amassed a .760 OPS with a 16.5% walk rate compared to a 25.3% K-rate through two months of pro ball. He has also hit to a .141 ISO, .324 BABIP, and a 114 wRC+ while also swiping 13 bases.

The Mississippi product leads the Jays squad in terms of walks (32), doubles, and OBP, and slots behind only Aldo Gaxiola in terms of RBIs.

Defensively, Parker has spent the majority of the season at shortstop to the tune of 269 innings. At the primary position, he’s posted a .979 fielding percentage with three errors compared to 94 assists and 43 putouts. The infielder has also played sparingly at third base, committing one error across 61 innings.

The top prospect list will continue to shuffle over the coming months, with Yohendrick Pinango, Charles McAdoo, and Adam Macko potentially graduating from the rankings if they continue to play at the big league level this season. The list will also change based on performance and injury over the next month (towards the midway mark) and again once the MLB Draft comes and goes.

With Yesavage graduating and everyone moving up one slot, right-hander Grant Rogers finds himself in the 30th spot.
