After coming up with an exciting win in extra innings on Friday, the Blue Jays failed to capitalize on the momentum, and dropped yet another one-run game. They’ll be back at it this afternoon when Marcus Stroman goes up against some guy you’ve surely never heard of.

And now, the lineups…
Blue Jays
Marcus Stroman: 20.0 IP, 4.05 ERA, 9 ER, 24 H, 4 BB, 1 HR, 13 SO
Angels
#Angels lineup. Escobar and Espinosa both off. Revere for Maybin.
Daniel Wright: 4.0 IP, 6.75 ERA, 3 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 0 HR, 0 SO
The Blue Jays used Casey Lawrence, a 29-year-old rookie, in last night’s game. He fared admirably and gave the Jays a chance to win, which, I think, is all you can really ask of him in that situation. Now it’s the Angels’ turn to toss out a random starter you’ve never heard of. Daniel Wright, who’s got a 6.18 ERA over 43 2/2 innings in his major league career, will fill in for Jesse Chavez, who ended up having to pitch in Friday’s 13-inning marathon game. The Jays lineup still hasn’t been anywhere near good, but it seems to be trending in the right direction. Let’s hope they can capitalize on this opportunity against a starter without any pedigree.
