The Arizona Fall League 2026 season is rapidly coming to an end.
There are just seven regular season games remaining for the eight Toronto Blue Jay prospects attending the event, as well as the All-Star game and Home Run derby and quarterfinal matchup (at the very least).
Come the morning of November 13th, there’s a chance that the season will be all wrapped up for Jake Bloss, Yondrei Rojas, Brandon Barriera, Fernando Perez, Gilberto Batista,  Jake Cook, Jake Casey, and Aaron Parker.
Let’s take a look at what has happened since the last Arizona Fall League check-in on October 28th!

Pitchers

The best performance by a Blue Jay prospect since the last check-in belonged to Jake Bloss. He had a tough outing on October 23rd, giving up seven earned runs in one + innings of work. Well, he rebounded on Halloween.
Over three innings of work, the pitcher allowed just one earned run over three innings of work, striking out four and allowing two hits to move his season ERA to 8.44.
That seven-run outing is the outlier, as he’s given up just three earned runs over his other nine and two-thirds innings (four starts), which is good for a 2.79 ERA. Bloss is also rocking a 24.4 K% and 4.4 BB% in his five starts.
As for the underlying numbers, Bloss’ fastball touched 97.5 mph and averaged 96.6 mph. He also generated seven swings and misses on 25 total swings, a 28 whiff percentage. The slider generated three whiffs on nine total swings, and the four-seam fastball generated three on 10 total swings.
Yondrei Rojas was the only other Blue Jays’ prospect to pitch since October 28th’s game. He appeared in that game, giving up three earned runs over an inning of work, striking out two and allowing a walk. Thanks to the performance, Rojas’ ERA now sits at 5.63, while his K% sits at 21.1 percent.
The Blue Jays’ three other pitching prospects, Fernando Perez, Brandon Barriera, and Gilberto Batista, were all off in these three games, thanks in large part to October 30th’s game being cancelled.

Position players

Offensively, former Blue Jay prospect Arjun Nimmala was the best Mesa Solar Sox hitter this past week. On October 29th, he went 5-7 with a double and a home run, driving in two in the process. He also hit a single on October 31st to cap off a 6-10 week. Through 15 games, Nimmala is slashing .300/.447/.533 with two home runs, four doubles, and two triples in 76 plate appearances.
As for Blue Jays prospects, Jake Casey’s tough AFL season continued over the last three games. He went 0-8, only reaching base thanks to a hit by pitch and walk. It’s worth noting that he also stole two bases, giving him eight this season, and only struck out twice. Over 14 games, Casey is slashing .077/.238/.173 with a home run and two doubles in 63 plate appearances, a bit worrisome, as he has the lowest batting-average among qualified hitters.
Jake Cook did what he did best early in his professional career, reaching thanks to singles. In his nine at-bats, Cook was 3-9 with a walk, three strikeouts, an RBI, but didn’t steal a base. Over 13 games, the centre fielder is slashing .365/.421/.404 with no home runs and two doubles in 57 plate appearances. Cook is rocking a 28.1 K% and is fourth in batting average among qualified hitters.
Lastly, Aaron Parker had an okay week, going 2-8 with a double, but struck out eight times. He also stole two bases and drove in a run. He’s played just eight games this season, but is slashing .371/.488/.486 with a double and a home run in 43 plate appearances. He has the third-highest batting average among qualified hitters.

How the standings shape up

As it stands, the Mesa Solar Sox and the Blue Jays’ prospects at the AFL sit fifth out of six teams thanks to a 9-11 record. With just seven games remaining, they are three games behind the top seed and two games behind the third-placed team.
All six AFL teams make the playoffs in this year’s tournament. However, the top two teams automatically earn a bye. If the season were to end today, their quarterfinal matchup would be against the Scottsdale Scorpions on November 12th.
The Solar Sox are back in action on November 2nd, taking on the Surprise Saguaros at 1:30 PM ET. Heading into the All-Star Game on November 7th, they’ll play the Glendale Desert Dogs twice, as well as the Peoria Javelinas twice.
