The Jays are 6-4 over their last ten games, and yet living, breathing straw men — or at least the ones that tweet at Barry Davis (or at least the ones of those who haven’t backtracked) — seem almost ready to pack it in.
I can’t even.
Every two-and-a-half games an MLB team plays is roughly equivalent to one quarter of one game of an NFL team’s season.
Based on the data from a 2013 piece at Sports On Earth, NFL teams average roughly three possessions per quarter.
People are losing their minds and ready to pack in the season over the baseball equivalent of less than three possessions.
Get a grip.
Scuttlebutt
Welp. You can’t say ol’ Gibbers isn’t changing things up to try to spark something. That sure is a lineup!
John Gibbons says that Troy Tulowitzki likely won’t need a rehab assignment, and will get his at-bats in Dunedin before likely rejoining the Jays once eligible to come off the DL on June 13th, according to a Gregor Chisholm tweet.
Great stuff from John Lott at VICE Sports on the long road to recovery for Jays prospect Max Pentecost.
