Coming out of the All-Star break the Jays started off with a big win against the Tigers. On a surface that seemed to resemble the diamond right out of the Sandlot, homers from Jose Bautista and Steve Pearce made the difference. In an effort to start a roll in the second half and keep their slim playoff hopes alive as the trade deadline approaches, Toronto will look to Francisco Liriano. At the end of the day, baseball is back and it’s time for a Saturday game in mid-July. So sit back and enjoy a beer and some salted peanuts (none of that unsalted garbage) and enjoy some Blue Jays baseball.
News and Scuttlebutt
A Devon Travis sighting! There really is not much to this at all, but it sure would be nice to see him back in a Jays jersey sooner rather than later, and at the very least, this is progression.
Blue Jays scouts were spotted at Sonny Gray’s last start. Which, I mean, take with a grain of salt. Or just read this.

And now, the lineups….
Francisco Liriano: 5.56 ERA, 68 IP, 9.9 H/9, 1.2 HR/9, 4.6 BB/9, 8.2 SO/9
Michael Fulmer: 3.19 ERA, 115.2 IP, 8.0 H/9, 0.5 HR/9, 2.0 BB/9, 6.5 SO/9
Michael Fulmer is putting together another great year for the Tigers. One of the reasons he’s doing so is that he’s keeping the ball inside the park with a phenomenal 0.5 HR/9. With the Jays affinity for winning by hitting bombs, they could be in tough tonight.
