It’s going to be a fascinating Monday in the world of baseball.

The Toronto Blue Jays will face the Boston Red Sox for a doubleheader, and in the first of two games, Danny Jansen will have played for both teams, becoming the first player in MLB history to do so. The game will resume a June 26th game rained out in the top of the second when Jansen had still been a member of the Blue Jays.

Jansen, however, was dealt to the Bo Sox on July 27th for three minor leaguers, slashing .231/.333/.385 for a .718 OPS since.

As noted by Mike Wilner, the lineup card will see Daulton Varsho pinch-hit for Jansen, while Will Wagner and Leo Jimenez will draw into the bottom of the order. That means they’ll both technically play in a game on June 26th, despite not making their MLB debut until August 12th, and July 4th, respectively.

Ryan Burr will get the start in Game 1 of the doubleheader for the Jays, opposite of Nick Pivetta for the Red Sox. Toronto is expected to use Ryan Yarbrough in a long relief role.

Game 2 will see Jose Berrios get the start for the Jays, while the Red Sox have yet to announce a starting pitcher for the second game.
