Thank you to @BadNewsJays for the inspiration for the header image today. I can’t think of a better way to sum up the latest stretch of games from the Toronto Blue Jays.

From going 10-5 in the sub-.500 stretch sweeping the Kansas City Royals in the final series, to getting swept in four straight by the Texas Rangers, to sweeping the Boston Red Sox over the weekend, things haven’t been exactly uh… stable around these parts.

It’s led to some more than stressful games, but hey! The Jays are 6-4 in their last 10 games. Let’s count that as a win, why don’t we.

All in all the chaos has led the Jays to a spot any playoff-hopeful team would want to find themselves in: one where they control their own fate. What happens to Texas, Houston, Seattle, et al doesn’t really matter anymore. All that matters is winning games, and the Jays have a chance to do that over the next two weeks as the regular season winds to a close.

The Jays open a three-game set on the road tonight against the New York Yankees, before a trip to the Trop for three over the weekend against Tampa Bay. Then, the Yanks and Rays visit Toronto and that’s all she wrote.

Tonight, it will be Yusei Kikcuhi on the mound opposite Clarke Schmidt.
