J.A. Happ isn’t starting the Wild Card game

Okay, now there’s absolutely zero reason to cheer for the Yankees over the Athletics in the Wild Card game. The Yanks will be starting Luis Severino on Wednesday night.
I mean, let’s be honest, nobody here was going to cheer for New York anyway, but it would have been a little tough to watch our old pal Happ get torched in the Wild Card game. So I’m glad that isn’t something we have to deal with.
If New York loses the game and gets eliminated from the playoffs, they’ll have acquired Happ essentially for no other reason than to have him sit on the bench and watch the loss. Happ has been excellent for New York, posting a 2.69 ERA over 11 starts. Remember when Yankees fans were underwhelmed with the team acquiring him? Lmfao.
Also, sticking with former Blue Jays, Liam Hendriks will be starting the Wild Card game for Oakland as they do their bullpen game thing. Easy decisions!
