Thank you John Gibbons for leading our @BlueJays and for all the great memories. I want to wish you good luck in the future! Toronto will miss you, Gibby! Proud to proclaim today as John Gibbons Day in Toronto. #BlueJays
John Tory proclaims John Gibbons day in Toronto

John Gibbons won’t be back as the team’s manager next season, but he’ll forever be a Blue Jay and a Torontonian. Mayor John Tory ensured that Gibbons’ legacy would forever live on in the city by proclaiming Sept. 26, 2018 is John Gibbons Day in the City of Toronto.
This is magnificent. Hopefully the Blue Jays are next to honour Gibbons, perhaps with a spot on the Level of Excellence for the franchise’s second-most winning manager and all-around beloved person.
