And then there were four.
The Dominican Summer League Blue Jays’ season ended on Tuesday, while the six games played in the Blue Jays farm system saw five wins.
Let’s dig into all of that in the latest Minor League Report!
Buffalo fell 7-3
The Buffalo Bisons were the only Blue Jays affiliate that lost Tuesday, as they fell 7-3 to the Omaha Storm Chasers. Their second-half record now sits at 19-27, last in the International League East division.
Totaling seven hits, Luis De Los Santos hit his fifth double of the season, while Alan Roden hit his eighth double at the level, as well as a multi-hit game. Jonatan Clase, Josh Kasevich, Will Robertson, and Nick Raposo each had a single as well.
James Kaprielian made the start for the Bisons, giving up four earned runs and seven total runs in two innings pitched. The bullpen had a good day though, as Paxton Schultz pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless baseball, Braydon Fisher struck out three in his inning and a third, and José Cuas and Eric Pardinho pitched clean innings, the latter struck out two.
New Hampshire swept the doubleheader
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats played a doubleheader against the Hartford Yard Goats on Tuesday, winning the first 12-11 and the second 5-1. Their second-half record now sits at 16-28.
In the first game, the team combined for 13 hits, with Charles McAdoo and Alex De Jesus each hitting a home run, their third and sixth respectively. This was a resumption of a late-June game, meaning that Josh Kasevich officially hit his 16th double in Double-A (finishing with 20), while Rainer Nuñez, McAdoo, and Ryan McCarty each hit a double.
Moreover, McCarty and McAdoo had a three-hit game, while De Jesus and Michael Turconi had two hits each. Andrés Sosa had the team’s other hit.
Devereaux Harrison technically started the game, but finished with zeros across the stat line. Hunter Gregory made the actual start yesterday, finishing with four earned runs given up in three innings pitched. Nick Fraze gave up three earned runs and struck out three in his inning of work, while Adrián Hernández gave up four earned runs in three innings of work. Johnathan Lavallee picked up the save, striking out two in a scoreless inning.
The Fisher Cats’ second game was a lot less high scoring, as they won 5-1. Michael Turconi hit his second home run of the season, while Dasan Brown hit a triple and RJ Schreck hit his fifth double with the Fisher Cats. Other players with a hit were Rainer Nuñez, Yohendrick Piñango, Ryan McCarty, Josh Rivera, and Robert Brooks.

Abdiel Mendoza started the game, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K to bring his Double-A ERA to 3.69. Ryan Jennings pitched a clean inning with a strikeout, while Anders Tolhurst struck out the side in his scoreless inning of work.
Vancouver is on a four-game winning streak
The Vancouver Canadians picked up an important win on Tuesday, defeating the Everett AquaSox 6-2. Their second-half record now sits at 30-19, one game behind Spokane for the second-half lead.
Cutter Coffey hit his first home run with the organization. Acquired in the Danny Jansen trade, it’s been a slow start with the Canadians. Peyton Williams hit his ninth home run of the season, while Jace Bohrofen hit his 10th home run of the season, as well as his 22nd double and a three-hit performance. Funnily enough, Bohrofen has now matched the 22 doubles Spencer Horwitz hit in Triple-A before his call up.
Cutter Coffey 💣! Maybe the best sounding home run all year? You be the judge!👂 #AtTheNat
Other players with a hit were Coffey and Je’Von Ward each had two hits, while Adrian Pinto, Jackson Hornung, and Nick Goodwin each had a single.
Ryan Watson started the game for the Canadians, and pitched a strong game with a line of 6.2 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K to bring his season ERA to 2.04. Grayson Thurman pitched an inning and a third with three strikeouts, while Kai Peterson struck out two in a clean inning of work.
Dunedin carried to a win by Arjun Nimmala
On Tuesday, the Dunedin Blue Jays defeated the Clearwater Threshers 6-4, bringing their second-half record to 24-23. They sit six and a half games back of the division lead.
Arjun Nimmala was easily the team’s best player, as he had four hits in this game, including his 16th double of the season. Nick Mitchell and Brock Tibbitts each had a multi-hit game as well, with the former hitting his first professional triple. Aaron Parker and Yhoangel Aponte each had a double as well. Edward Duran and J.R. Freethy both had a single.
Arjun Nimmala started the scoring tonight with an RBI double. He finished his night with four hits - a career high. Not a bad night at the office 💼
Gage Stanifer had the start and finished with a line of 4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K to bring his Single-A ERA to 6.13. J.J. Sanchez picked up the win, pitching two and a third innings with one earned run allowed and three strikeouts. Yondrei Rojas allowed an earned run in his inning of work, while Julio Ortiz picked up the save by striking out three in an inning and two thirds.
DSL ended their season with a blowout win
On Tuesday, the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays ended their 2024 season, defeating the DSL Mariners 13-2 to finish with a 30-24 record on the season.
Funnily enough, the team only had eight hits, with Franklin Rojas having three of those, including his third double of the season. Pascual Archila had two hits including a double, while Dariel Ramon hit his fifth double of the season. Juarlin Soto and Endry Reyes had the other two hits, both singles. In total, the DSL Jays had 16 walks, with Angel Guzmán walking four times.
Pitching was solid for the DSL Jays, as Silvano Hechavarria finished with a line of 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K to bring his DSL ERA to 1.84. Carlos Abad struck out four and walked two in his 1.2 innings pitched, while Antony De Los Santos allowed a hit in a scoreless inning. Danny Martinez only pitched a third of an inning, striking out the only batter he faced, and Ismauri Bueno gave up two earned runs with two strikeouts in his inning of work.
