<p>Mitch White was back on the mound for the Buffalo Bisons on Saturday, but things flew off the rails quickly in his fifth rehab appearance at triple-A.</p>
<p>The 28-year-old right-hander, whose rehab assignment was paused briefly due to shoulder fatigue, received the starting nod in Saturday&#8217;s contest versus the Lehigh Valley IronPigs &#8211; the Philadelphia Phillies&#8217; triple-A affiliate. His first start in almost three weeks, however, didn&#8217;t last very long.</p>
<p>White surrendered five runs &#8211; all earned &#8211; on five hits, two walks and a hit by pitch while striking out four batters across just 2.1 innings. The 6-foot-3 hurler&#8217;s biggest hiccup came in the second, allowing three consecutive hitters to reach base before being tagged with a three-run blast by Jake Cave, leading to a four-run inning.</p>
<p>Despite recording his fourth punchout to begin the third, White was pulled from the game after giving up Jim Haley&#8217;s 109.5-m.p.h. double, capping another disappointing performance. And as you can see below, the struggling righty failed to control the strike zone all game.</p>

<p>White leaned heavily on his four-seamer, throwing it over 50 per cent of the time, but it generated zero swinging strikes on 15 swings. Opposing hitters also created a 99.5 m.p.h. average exit velocity against it.</p>
<p>The former Los Angeles Dodger&#8217;s sweeper &#8211; a slider that features sharp horizontal break &#8211; displayed promise at times, though, inducing five whiffs on eight swings. But there were also instances where it struggled to miss barrels.</p>
<p>The Blue Jays, who transferred White to the 60-day IL last week, received a fresh 30-day clock once his rehab assignment resumed and have until June 25 before needing to determine his next steps.</p>
<p>White is currently out of minor-league options and would require waivers if he isn&#8217;t returned to the majors after his 30-day clock expires.</p>
