Report: Ricky Tiedemann set to join Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays could have a long-awaited debut in the coming days. 
Gate 14 Podcast’s Johnny Giunta is reporting that Ricky Tiedemann could be called up as early as tomorrow to join the Blue Jays’ active roster. 
Tiedemann has spent much of  2026 rehabbing as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery that occurred in 2024 and cost him the entirety of the 2025 season. 
Through seven total rehab outings across three minor-league levels this season, Tiedemann is 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. The left-hander has struck out 11 batters across his seven innings of work. 
After two outings in the FCL, Tiedemann was set to be transferred to Single-A Dunedin for his next step, but the 23-year-old ended up missing over a month of action after receiving injections in his neck and shoulder to alleviate discomfort. 
After just over a month off, Tiedemann threw two scoreless outings for Dunedin in which he impressed with his ability to pound the zone. Tiedemann’s fastball also averaged above 95 MPH in both of his appearances, resulting in him receiving the call to return to Triple-A with the Bisons. 
In three outings with the Bisons, Tiedemann has pitched to a 12.00 ERA and a 2.33 WHIP. The former third-round draft pick started out with a scoreless outing, but in the two innings that have followed, he has been tagged for four runs. 
If Tiedemann is called up, it will make for a debut for a pitcher who once occupied the Blue Jays’ No. 1 spot per MLB Pipeline. Still listed at No. 11, Tiedemann brings an upside that has left fans excited for the past five years.
