Ricky Tiedemann has returned to the mound. 
On Sunday, Tiedemann pitched for the Dunedin Blue Jays as he attempts to work his way back from Tommy John surgery that occurred in July 2024.  
Tiedemann previously made two appearances in the FCL but was scratched from his scheduled start on June 23 with the Blue Jays hours before first pitch. It was later revealed that the 23-year-old was dealing with neck and shoulder discomfort that required injections to relieve symptoms. 
Now, just over a month later, Tiedemann got into game action with the Blue Jays, as the left-hander was summoned out of the bullpen to work the bottom of the sixth inning. 
Tiedemann looked strong in his return and turned in a pitching line of 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. The left-hander required 18 pitches (11 strikes) and averaged 96.4 MPH and topped out at 97.7 MPH with his fastball. 
The first batter of the frame, Edgleen Perez, drove a 95.8 MPH fastball from Tiedemann for a single, setting up Bradenton with a runner on first and no one out. After getting Richard Ramirez to ground into a force out, Tiedemann started to turn it on. 
Tiedemann required four pitches to set down Bralyn Brazoban swinging on a 97 MPH fastball. Tiedemann used both his four-seamer and sweeper to get Brazoban in check. Tiedemann closed out his afternoon by striking out Brent Iredale on an 82 MPH sweeper after engaging in a six-pitch battle. 
After a successful first step, Tiedemann will need to continue to show he can rebound from his outing healthy as he tries to get back on the path toward making his MLB debut.
