The Blue Jays officially recalled Ryan Borucki from Triple-A Buffalo today. To make room on the 25-man roster, infielder Gio Urshela was designated for assignment. Borucki was already on the 40-man, but this move will make room for Thomas Pannone who’s set to come back from his PED suspension right away.
Welcome to The Show, @ryan_borucki! #LetsGoBlueJays
Every time I saw Urshela out there I had to take a second to remember who he was. He was acquired by the Blue Jays from Cleveland back in May for cash and played in 19 games for the club. He slashed a .233/.283/.326 line over the course of 46 plate appearances and *checks notes* played third base and shortstop.
Will he clear waivers? Who knows! Here’s a video of him hitting a home run against Oakland.
