Blue Jays activate Brendon Little from paternity list, option Ricky Tiedemann to Triple-A Buffalo

The Toronto Blue Jays continued their bullpen shuffle on Sunday.
Before the series finale against the New York Yankees, the Blue Jays announced that they reinstated Brendon Little from the paternity list. 
Through 16 games with the Blue Jays this season, Little is 0-3 with a 9.98 ERA and a 2.35 WHIP. The left-hander has struck out 22 batters across his 15.1 innings pitched and has allowed opponents to bat .350 off him. 
While Little’s 15 walks in his 15.1 frames are concerning, he has looked much better since returning from Triple-A in mid-July. In his 10.2 innings, Little has allowed only three earned runs and struck out 15 during that span. 
In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays optioned left-hander Ricky Tiedemann to Triple-A Buffalo. Tiedemann was recalled on Saturday and worked 1.2 innings in his MLB debut. The 23-year-old turned in a pitching line of 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, with his first strikeout coming against Yankees catcher Austin Wells. 
The debut was a long time coming for the Blue Jays’ third-round draft pick in 2021, as Tiedemann has dealt with his fair share of injuries before getting his moment in the majors. 
Tiedemann’s fastball averaged 96.2 MPH in his outing and touched 97.2 MPH, giving faith that Tiedemann has overcome the injury issues that have plagued him through the 2026 season. 
In the midst of a Wild Card race, Tiedemann’s upside likely puts him in a position to return to the Blue Jays’ roster as they try and return to the postseason for the second straight year.
