A sixth Blue Jay is off to the midsummer classic.

This time, it’s Jordan Romano who will be heading to the game. He joins Vladimir Guerreo Jr., Alejandro Kirk, and Alex Manoah, as well as Santiago Espinal and George Springer. The latter of the bunch opted out of the game as he nurses on-and-off elbow issues.

For the 29-year-old closer, it marks his first-ever all-star appearance amid a solid season in the bigs. He’s pitched 33.0 innings over 34 games notching a league-leading 19 saves. Romano has posted a 2.73 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP striking out 10.1 batters per nine innings.

Romano, along with Chicago White Sox reliever Liam Hendricks, will replace New York Yankees starter Gerrit Cole, and Houston Astros starter Justin Verlander.

The Home Run derby, which will feature no Jays after Vladimir Guerreo Jr. opted-out, takes place Monday night, while the actual all-star game itself goes Tuesday night at 7 p.m. EST.
