John Schneider says that Bo Bichette feels a bit better today and will try to warm up with a regular day. They’re hoping he’s available off the bench tonight, but that’s still TBD. #BlueJays

With a win on Thursday evening, the Toronto Blue Jays will match the New York Yankees’ record.
It’s safe to say that Thursday’s game is the biggest of the season, at least so far. On Monday, the Blue Jays defeated the Yankees 5-4, followed by a 12-5 victory on Canada Day. That got them to one game below the Yankees for the division lead.
Before Monday’s game, Bo Bichette was scratched. He wasn’t in the lineup for Tuesday’s game, and won’t be in the lineup for Wednesday’s game either. When asked about him, Blue Jays manager John Schneider feels better, and there’s a possibility he could be available off the bench.
Bichette may or may not be available in Wednesday’s game, but reliever Yimi Garcia will certainly be available as he was activated from the Injured List. To make room on the 26-man roster, the Blue Jays optioned Mason Fluharty, who has been struggling in recent times.
Andres Gimenez will bat lead-off for Bichette, followed by the red-hot George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Alejandro Kirk bats clean-up, followed by Addison Barger and Ernie Clement. The bottom three consist of Will Wagner, Davis Schneider, and Myles Straw. Since returning to the roster on June 1, Schneider is slashing .263/.391/.395 with one home run in 46 plate appearances for a 131 wRC+. He has just missed two home runs in the last two games.
Jose Berrios is set to start for the Blue Jays. His last time out saw him go seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Over his last two games, he’s gone 14 innings with a single unearned run allowed. Since May 29, Berrios has a 1.66 ERA and 2.98 FIP in 38 innings pitched, with six of the seven earned runs coming in one game against the Phillies on Jun. 15.
Let’s set up Wednesday’s game, as the Jays have a chance to win the series!
