Blue Jays prospect Jay Harry placed on 7-day injured list

One of the best stories throughout the 2026 minor league season for the Toronto Blue Jays has been the breakout of Jay Harry. 
On Tuesday, Harry was placed on the 7-day injured list after being forced to leave last Wednesday’s contest in the seventh inning during the Buffalo Bisons’ 9-2 win over the Rochester Red Wings. 
Harry has taken off this season, a year that has been split between Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A with the Bisons. Across 77 games, the 24-year-old is batting .316 with 13 home runs, and 67 RBIs. 
Since the move to Triple-A, Harry has appeared in 29 games and is batting .303 with five home runs and 28 RBIs. Harry has seen his on-base percentage rise from .354 during his time with the Fisher Cats to .368 with the Bisons. 
Originally acquired from the Minnesota Twins on July 30, 2024, in exchange for right-handed reliever Trevor Richards, Harry struggled mightily in his first two seasons within the organization. Harry batted .210 with the Vancouver Canadians after being assigned to High-A following the acquisition. 
To open the 2025 season, Harry appeared in 56 games with the Canadians and earned a promotion after batting .228 with three home runs, and 22 RBIs. Upon his arrival in New Hampshire, Harry appeared to be overmatched. In 44 games, Harry batted only .153 with two home runs, nine RBIs, and a .255 OBP. 
Now listed as the Blue Jays’ 19th-ranked prospect, Harry’s 2026 season appears to have put him in consideration for his MLB debut. With the Blue Jays sitting with a 49-59 record, and appearing to be on their way to selling at the trade deadline, Harry could get a chance if he proves he can return from this injury with the same success he had prior to going on the IL.
