Jay Harry’s strong 2026 season earned himself an achievement on Monday.
Harry was named International League Player of the Week after batting .464 with three home runs and 14 RBIs over six games against the Iowa Cubs. The 23-year-old went 13-for-28 and reached base safely in all six contests to help earn himself the honours. Harry had three multi-hit games during this stretch and swatted four doubles.
After being promoted to Triple-A Buffalo on June 12, Harry has continued to swing the hot bat he flashed during his time in Double-A with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Through 14 games with the Bisons, Harry is batting .383 with four home runs and 19 RBIs.
Harry has brought a spark to the Bisons’ lineup after batting .325 with eight home runs and 39 RBIs over 48 games with the Fisher Cats. Harry’s promotion to Triple-A comes after 92 games in Double-A over parts of two seasons.
The utility player isn’t currently ranked on the Toronto Blue Jays’ top-30 prospects list per MLB Pipeline, That said, Harry is generating a buzz within the Blue Jays’ organization due to the level of success he’s flashed through the opening three months of the minor league regular season.
Harry was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Minnesota Twins on July 30, 2024, in exchange for right-hander Trevor Richards. Harry batted .210 after joining the Vancouver Canadians at the Single-A level after joining the Blue Jays’ organization.
After spending 56 games with the Canadians to open the 2025 season, Harry was promoted to Double-A, but the results that followed left some concern that Harry would be able to continue to climb the ranks. Over 44 games, Harry batted .153 with two home runs and nine RBIs and was only able to reach base at a .255 clip.
Harry has bounced back this season and is starting to make noise as someone who could help boost the Blue Jays’ offence amid the club’s high-profile struggles. Much like Sean Keys, if Harry continues to swing a hot bat, he may end up forcing the Blue Jays’ management to add a spark to their lineup.
