Blue Jays prospects JoJo Parker and Silvano Hechavarria help lead High-A Vancouver to victory

The Toronto Blue Jays’ management group had to have enjoyed what they saw with their High-A affiliate, the Vancouver Canadians, on Tuesday. 
A pair of prospects within their farm system, including No. 1-ranked JoJo Parker and Silvano Hechavarria, helped lead the Canadians to a 6-1 victory over the Spokane Indians. 
Appearing in his 12th game with the Canadians since being promoted from Single-A Dunedin on August 10, Parker went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. All three of Parker’s hits on the evening came against left-handed pitchers, a strong sign the 20-year-old is getting more comfortable at this level. 
After lining out in the bottom of the first inning, Parker shot a two-out single between first and second base to bring home Dariel Ramon and give the Canadians a 1-0 lead. 
Facing Everett Catlett for the third time in the bottom of the fifth, Parker got ahead 2-0 in the count before stroking a one-out double to right field for his third two-bagger since being promoted to the Canadians. 
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Parker put together his best at-bat of the evening. Squaring off with Justin Loer with two out and the bases loaded, Parker ran the count to 3-2 before lining an RBI single to left field to bring home 2026 10th-round draft pick Bryce Chance and give the Canadians a 3-0 lead. 
The eighth overall selection from the 2025 draft, Parker has impressed in High-A as across his 12 games, Parker is batting .295 with six RBIs and has reached base at a .415 clip. While on the bases, Parker has made his mark, having stolen four bases in five attempts with the Canadians. 
Parker’s strong start comes after he appeared in 87 games with Dunedin and batted .258 with 13 home runs and 66 RBIs. Parker went 22-for-26 on stolen base attempts and turned in an on-base percentage of .388.
Starting against the Indians, Hechavarria turned in a pitching line of 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, tossing 71 pitches (50 strikes) en route to his second victory since being promoted to High-A on June 30. 
This was Hechavarria’s first scoreless outing since joining the Canadians, as the 23-year-old has endured his fair share of struggles in 2026. After opening the season on the injured list, Hechavarria began his year in Single-A Dunedin, where he recorded a 7.29 ERA across 10 starts. 
Through nine games (eight starts) as a Canadian, Hechavarria is 2-5 with a 7.51 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP. The right-hander has struck out 36 batters across his 38.1 innings pitched but has been hit at a .300 clip. 
Signed as an international free agent out of Cuba in 2024, Hechavarria entered the 2026 campaign as the Blue Jays’ No. 14-ranked prospect. Due to his struggles, Hechavarria has fallen outside the top 30, but if he can put together more outings like this, the righty has a chance to restore some of the excitement he has built since joining the organization.
