For the second pick in a row, the Toronto Blue Jays selected a senior college outfielder.
After selecting Joey Urban in the ninth round, the Blue Jays used their tenth-round draft pick to select Mississippi State outfielder Bryce Chance 312th overall.
Chance wrapped up his fourth season with the Bulldogs by appearing in 62 games and batted .349 with two home runs and 25 RBIs. Listed at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Chance brings a speed element to his game, highlighted by 13 steals in 17 attempts this past season.
The 23-year-old possesses strong bat-to-ball skills and a keen eye at the plate, as the outfielder walked more than he struck out in three of his four seasons with the Bulldogs. Last year, Chance walked 26 times and struck out 18, helping him finish the season with a .437 on-base percentage.
The Bulldogs put together a successful 2026 season, advancing to the NCAA Super Regional before falling to the University of Georgia in two games. In the two games against Georgia, Chance went 5-for-8 with one RBI and one run scored.
Over his four seasons with the Bulldogs, Chance batted .323 with 14 home runs and 136 RBIs while turning in an OBP of .408. With Chance being a four-year senior, the Blue Jays will likely try to sign Chance below the slot value of $191,900 that comes with the 312th pick.
