Blue Jays’ top prospects JoJo Parker and Johnny King earn promotions

Two of the top Toronto Blue Jays’ prospects will start this week at a new level.
According to numerous sources, the Blue Jays have promoted JoJo Parker to the High-A Vancouver Canadians, which was made official on Sunday evening.
Then on Monday morning, Milb Central’s Chase Ford reported that Johnny King has been promoted from the Canadians to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Starting with Parker, the Blue Jays’ first-rounder in the 2025 draft has been on a tear this season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays. Over 87 games, the shortstop is slashing .258/.388/.471 with 13 home runs, 24 doubles, and three triples in 399 plate appearances, with a 15.8 BB% and 24.8 K%.
That doesn’t tell the whole story, as Parker has been on an absolute tear over the last two months or so. Since June 13th, the Blue Jays’ top prospect is slashing .299/.412/.620 with nine home runs, 11 doubles, and three triples in 165 plate appearances for a 162 wRC+.
No prospect in the system with 130+ plate appearances has been nearly that productive, with Tucker Toman’s 146 wRC+ sitting second. Moreover, Parker’s 162 wRC+ ranks 37th in all of minor league baseball of player with 130+ plate appearances. That’s a sample size of 1,036 players.
King, a left-handed pitcher, is also getting the call-up after a solid tenure with the team he began his season with. Over 21 starts with the Canadians, King authored a 3.21 ERA and 3.99 FIP in 84 innings of work. While his 13.7 BB% is on the high side, his strikeout rate of 30.6% is an encouraging sign.
Double-A is a big step for the 20-year-old southpaw, as hitters at the level are far more patient and punish mistakes. Still, the Blue Jays’ third-best prospect according to MLB Pipeline has the stuff to find success at the level.
King joins a New Hampshire Fisher Cats rotation that features Gage Stanifer, Nolan Perry, Austin Cates, and Danny Thompson Jr.
