This wasn't ideal
WATCH: Yangervis Solarte wipes out, but is OK

Yangervis Solarte just showed everyone in Cleveland how not to slide into third base.
Solarte hit a double in the third inning of this afternoon’s game, then, after Russell Martin flew out to centre field, he tagged up and ran to third. His slide was, uh, sort of a disaster.
Yikes. Solarte went for a head-first slide and seemed to get himself stuck in the wet dirt. Remember, it had been raining all morning in Cleveland before the game finally started. Solarte was on the ground for a while, got bandaged up, and stayed in the game. In the next inning, he smacked a two-run single, so I think it’s safe to say everything is fine.
This is reminiscent of Todd Stottlemyre’s legendary slide back in the 1993 World Series. Stottlemyre would go out and get smacked around the following inning but the Jays would eventually win that game 15-14.
