Game Threat: OK, now let’s Stro on a winning Stro-eak!, Jays (79-64) vs. Rays (60-83)

The Jays don’t have Josh Donaldson in the lineup for the second straight night, as it turns out he “jarred” or “jammed” his hip on Sunday — something with a “j” — and is now considered day-to-day.
That’s not great! But maybe it won’t make too much of a difference tonight, as the Jays get a chance to feast on lefty Drew Smyly of the Rays, while sending Marcus Stroman to the hill to face him.
Uh… of course, the Jays have had a few chances to feast on Smyly this season, and they only really got to him once, way back on April 4th.
Great time to change that trend, eh?
Scuttlebutt
Well I already mentioned the Donaldson thing, so… consider that your scuttlebutt with respect to stuff on the field.
However, some interesting stuff from Mark Shapiro, who spoke to reporters today about how he’s in the middle of choosing “a design parter for Rogers Centre to help ‘re-envision the building for next 30 years’,” per a Benny Fresh tweet.
Ben adds that Shapiro says the Jays “hope to create more ‘targeted experiences’ for fans at home games,” citing areas of the park with appeal to fans, such as the Flight Deck. “There’s a lot of opportunity to re-envision and modernize the building,” Shapiro says, per a Shi Davidi tweet.
All this comes as the Jays cross the 3-million mark in terms of attendance at games this season — a figure, I noted earlier, that makes this the sixth-highest attended season in the club’s 40 year history.
Also: yes, tomorrow’s game is an afternoon affair, so get your excuses for ditching work ready!
