The Yankees have acquired 1B/DH Kendrys Morales and cash considerations from Oakland in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Jonathan Loaisiga has been transferred to the 60-day IL.
Kendrys Morales got traded to the Yankees, lol

Sometimes life is weird and sometimes you randomly run into an ex within your division that you already saw earlier this season wearing another uniform.
The Blue Jays have already played the Oakland A’s shortly after they acquired Kendrys Morales from them, he was even able to score a run. But now, after the A’s DFA’d Morales earlier this week, they traded him to the New York Yankees of all teams.
Already meeting their requirement of extremely-cheap ex-Jays with Tulo Tulowitzki making a fraction of his salary with Toronto, the Yankees have decided to acquire Morales, who already had some salary retained by the Jays in the first trade.
At least the Jays were able to get more for the designated hitter than what Oakland got for him. They sent infielder prospect Jesus Lopez and international bonus pool money to Toronto, while Oakland just got some mystery box.
With the A’s, Morales was slashing .204/.310/.259, so it’s pretty understandable if they actually want to repeat last season’s success.
It’s just a strange set of circumstances really.
