The Toronto Blue Jays have had difficulties at home against American League West teams while going through their rebuilding.
Coming off a split of a four-game series with a familiar foe in the New York Yankees, the Blue Jays welcome the Texas Rangers to the Rogers Centre for a three-game series that begins Monday. The Blue Jays are 4-6 in their last 10 home games, but they are also 7-13 in their last 20 home games against AL West teams with the total going UNDER in 12 of those contests on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Rangers may warrant the ‘snakebitten’ label as they are 6-14 in their last 20 away contests, with the total going UNDER 13 times, according to the OddsShark MLB Database, but only three of the contests were against teams that have a sub-.500 record, not unlike the Blue Jays.
Neil Ramirez (0-1, 5.40 ERA, 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings) will be the Blue Jays’ opener on Monday night. The Rangers counter with Ariel Jurado (6-7, 4.74 ERA, 6.7 SO/9). The Rangers are 3-4 in Jurado’s away starts this season with the total finishing OVER four times.
Left-hander Thomas Pannone (2-5, 6.83 ERA, 8.8 SO/9) starts on Tuesday after allowing seven runs in two-plus innings in his previous outing against the New York Yankees last Thursday. The total has gone OVER in five of Pannone’s last six starts at sports betting sites where the Blue Jays were the underdog. Texas will start Lance Lynn (14-7, 3.60 ERA, 10.3 SO/9), who has had a large hand in the total finishing UNDER in his last six away starts as well as in nine of his 12 away starts this season.
Wednesday, right-hander Sean Reid-Foley (2-2, 2.36 ERA, 7.8 SO/9) will be one-half of an all-rookie pitching matchup. Reid-Foley has allowed only two earned runs over 14 innings in his last three starts despite playing with fire with 10 bases on balls issued. Foley’s starts this season have had an average total of 10.2 runs. The Rangers will give left-hander Kolby Allard (0-0, 4.15 ERA, 14.5 SO/9) his second start since being acquired from Atlanta this week.
The Blue Jays will have an off-day on Thursday prior to the three-game series against the Seattle Mariners that will complete their homestand.
