Victor Arias has the potential to be a five-tool player.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual mid-season prospect list, where we’ll take a look at the 50 best prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. I’ll look at the player’s stats, what other publications have to say, as well as my own observations of the players.
There have been quite a few position players to break out in 2025, and Arias is one of those players, ranking as our 15th-best Blue Jays’ prospect in the mid-season update. If you missed who ranked as our 16th-best prospect in the system, you can read about Grant Rogers here.
Getting to know Victor Arias…
Position: Outfield
Bats: Left
Born: August 24th, 2003
Acquired: 2019 International Free Agency
Previous ranking: 37th (2025 pre-season)
Arias signed with the Blue Jays during the 2019 International Free Agency period, but didn’t debut that year, nor did the outfielder debut in the 2020 season was shut down thanks to the global pandemic, meaning the 5’9”, 150 lbs outfielder’s first taste of professional action came in 2021.
Spending the season with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays, Arias slashed .248/.388/.339 with two home runs in 134 plate appearances for a 118 wRC+. The outfielder repeated the level in 2022, slashing .315/.448/.481 in just 67 plate appearances.
In 2023, Arias came stateside and began his season with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays, where he slashed .222/.395/.393 with four home runs in 152 plate appearances for a 117. Toward the end of the year, he earned a promotion to Single-A, hitting a home run in 13 plate appearances, before a promotion to Double-A to end the season, due in large part to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats needing players to end the season.
The 2024 season was Arias’ breakout year, as he began the season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, slashing .279/.386/.454 with a career-best eight home runs in 332 plate appearances, posting a 142 wRC+. To end the season, Arias received 40 plate appearances with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, hitting a double.
That leads us to the 2025 season, with Arias starting the year with the Canadians. Just like the year before, Arias hit the ground running, slashing .294/.381/.437 with five home runs in 318 plate appearances. After his promotion to Double-A, he started well, but has started to struggle as he’s slashing .226/.293/.331 with an 82 wRC+. The good news is that Arias has two home runs so far in his New Hampshire tenure, but he is on the 7-day Injured List.
In MLB Pipeline’s mid-season update, Arias ranked as their ninth-best Blue Jays prospect. The outfielder has above-average speed and above-average defensive abilities, with average power. There is concern about his hit tool, graded at 45 by Pipeline, the same grade given to his arm. The next step for Arias is to excel against upper-minor pitchers.
