Today’s prospect is one worth monitoring in 2025.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual Pre-Season Prospect Countdown, this time looking at the top 40 prospects in the organization. We’ll look at the player’s stats, my observations, and other publications’ scouting reports if available.
Let’s take a look at our 37th-ranked prospect, Victor Arias!

Getting to know Victor Arias…

Position: Outfield
Bats: Left
Born: August 24, 2003
Acquired: 2019 International Free Agency
Previous ranking: 34th
Arias signed with the Blue Jays organization in 2019 but didn’t make his professional debut until 2021. In the Dominican Summer League that season, he slashed .248/.388/.339 with two home runs in 134 plate appearances. Arias repeated the level in 2022, slashing .315/.448/.481 with no home runs in 67 plate appearances.
The outfielder came stateside to begin the 2023 season, mainly playing for the Florida Complex League Blue Jays where he slashed .222/.395/.393 with four home runs in 152 plate appearances. Arias also hit another home run in one of his 13 plate appearances with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.
Last season, Arias started the year with the Dunedin Blue Jays, where he slashed .279/.386/.454 with eight home runs in 332 plate appearances, with a 10.8 BB% and a 21.7 K% for a 141 wRC+. Late in the season, he received a call-up to the High-A Vancouver Canadians, where he slashed .324/.425/.353 with no home runs in 40 plate appearances. Altogether, he slashed .283/.390/.443 with eight homers in 372 plate appearances for a 140 wRC+.
Arias ranked as MLB Pipeline’s 28th-best Blue Jays prospect in their mid-season update. Of note, he stands at just 5’9”, 150 lbs, but has great pop for his size as he’s registered a 113.4 mph exit velocity according to his scouting report. Arias’ hit tool lacks behind as he struggles with soft stuff and he’ll likely play left field in his career with a weak arm but good speed.
It’s expected Arias will start the 2025 season with the High-A Vancouver Canadians.
