Allow me to introduce myself…

Hey!
My name is Richard Lee-Sam and I’m a Blue Jays fan, but you probably already knew that. For those of you unfamiliar with the name, I’m a writer at Baseball Prospectus Toronto, a chronic tweeter, and now, associate editor here at Blue Jays Nation!
Even though I’ve been in journalism school for the past few years (shout out to Centennial College in Toronto), I’m still relatively new to this whole baseball writing thing. I spent the past year doing some analysis over at Baseball Prospectus Toronto, and had a cup of coffee at Jays from the Couch before that.
But where I lack in experience, I hope I make up for with humour and the ability to talk baseball with all of you. There’s been a lot of excitement on Twitter and looking forward to seeing where Cam and I take this, but I don’t think much will change. My goal here is to have conversations about an at-times confusing sport with the same ease and passion you have sitting around a table drinking with your friends. It’s what Andrew Stoeten was best at and I hope to continue the trend. I was a loyal reader for that reason – well before I was in consideration to join the team.
I’ve got to say, over the past few weeks, newly-minted managing editor Cam Lewis has been texting me non-stop about ways we could do fun shit that a Blue Jays crowd would love. There’s nobody better to fill some giant shoes. We have a lot planned for 2018 for you guys. So my congratulations go out to him as well as Stoeten in the next stage in his career.
If you followed me from Baseball Prospectus Toronto or Twitter, I thank you. If this is the first time you’re reading me, I hope you stick around.
Over the next few weeks we’re going to be bringing in a group of new writers and rolling out some new things we plan on doing this year. There will be baseball, jokes, good times, and a whole lot of cussing. Let’s do this thing.
