The Toronto Blue Jays are scoring in bunches on the road during a run of games against fellow also-rans, but they’re also relying on a pitcher who’s on an OVER streak on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Looking for their first four-win streak of the season, the Blue Jays begin their post-Major League Baseball trade deadline schedule against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday in the opener of a four-game series.
While odds were unavailable early Thursday due in part to both teams shaking up their rosters at the deadline, the Blue Jays are on a run of being 5-1 in their last six away games, with the total going OVER in four of the six contests. The total has also gone OVER in five of the teams’ last eight meetings in Baltimore.

With youngsters Vladimir Guerrero (8-for-20 with two home runs and 12 RBI in his last four games) and Bo Bichette (6-for-13 with a home run in his first three games) contributing, the Blue Jays have averaged 6.17 runs over their last six games.
The Orioles have actually exceeded that in the same span, averaging 6.67 in their last six. Baltimore is coming off a nine-game west coast road trip where it went 5-4, but it’s struggled at home, going 7-13 in its last 20 outings, with the total finishing OVER 11 times with two pushes, according to the OddsShark MLB Database.
Trent Thornton (3-7, 5.45 ERA, 9.1 strikeouts per nine innings) returns from the 10-day injured list to start for the Blue Jays, while fellow right-hander Asher Wojciechowski (2-3, 3.60, 11.1 SO/9) is the probable starter for the Orioles. The total has gone OVER in Thornton’s last five road starts at betting sites, with an average total of 13.8 runs.
Wojciechowski will be making his third career start against the Blue Jays and his team lost the first two, including a 6-1 defeat at Baltimore on June 7.
The departures of starting pitchers Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez, along with lefthander Ryan Borucki returning to the injured list, means the Blue Jays starting rotation is in shambles. Neither team has announced a starting pitcher for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday games.
Following this series, the Blue Jays complete their 10-game road trip with a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.
