The Toronto Blue Jays and their starting pitcher are both carrying pronounced trends into the start of the season’s final road trip. The Blue Jays are the -145 away favorite (bet $145 to win $100) while the Baltimore Orioles are the +135 home underdog (bet $100 to win $135) with a 10.5-run total on the MLB odds for Tuesday at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Blue Jays have lost their last seven away games and are 1-11 in their last 12 away games, due largely to an offense that has produced only 2.75 runs per outing in those contests. However, they are 6-5 this season as an away favorite. The Orioles are also 7-13 in their last 20 home games as an underdog of +100 to +150 on the moneyline.

Rookie right-hander Trent Thornton (5-9, 5.04 ERA, 8.7 strikeouts per nine innings) will start on Tuesday night for the Blue Jays. The Orioles, meanwhile, are expected to trot out righty Dylan Bundy (6-14, 4.99 ERA, 8.9 SO/9) for a start on either Tuesday or Wednesday, with Baltimore’s rotation for the series not yet announced as of Tuesday morning.
The total has gone OVER in Thornton’s last nine away starts at online betting sites, but he is coming off an excellent home start against the Boston Red Sox where he threw five no-hit, no-run innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. The Orioles are 3-12 in Bundy’s last 15 home starts where they were listed as the underdog at sportsbooks.
Veteran right-hander Clay Buchholz (1-5, 5.63 ERA, 4.9 SO/9) will start for the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The Blue Jays are 1-6 in Buchholz’s last seven starts, and the total has finished UNDER in six of Buchholz’s last nine starts.
Finally, left-hander Anthony Kay (0-0, 6.30 ERA, 9.0 SO/9) will make his third career MLB start in the final game of the series on Thursday for Toronto. The Orioles are 19-39 this season against left-handed starting pitchers.
The Blue Jays finish their road trip with a three-game series against the New York Yankees, then have an off-day on Monday prior to a season-ending six-game homestand where they face the Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays.
