On the back of another painful loss (getting walked off in extras for the second time this week), the Jays turn to JA Happ today in an attempt to avoid the sweep. Maybe, just maybe, if someone other than Justin Smoak musters up a hit, they stand a snowballs chance in hell of not walking out of Cleveland with their tails between their legs.

News and Scuttlebutt

Troy Tulowitzki is not in the lineup again today but has still hasn’t hit the 10 day DL. The Jays will continue to monitor his status on a day to day basis.
The Jays filled in their plans for the rotation with Sanchez on the DL. Cesar Valdez gets the opportunity Tuesday.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

JA Happ: 3.55 ERA, 66 IP, 9.1 H9, 1.9 HR9, 2.2 BB9, 8.5 SO9

Cleveland

Corey Kluber: 2.86 ERA, 100.2 IP, 6.5 H9, 0.9 HR9, 2.1 BB9, 12.1 SO9
Following a night where the Jays lineup made Danny Salazar look like a first ballot Hall of Famer, it doesn’t get any easier against Corey Kluber. With Happ also pitching very well since his return from the DL, all signs point to another low scoring game.
