There are two teams in the Blue Jays on a lengthy win streak.
On Friday, both the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays and the Vancouver Canadians extended their win streaks. Overall, the five teams in action went 3-2, with the Dunedin Blue Jays being rained out.
Let’s dig into the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo on the verge of losing the series

The Buffalo Bisons fell 9-4 to the Syracuse Mets on Friday to bring their second-half record to 1-3, needing two wins on the weekend to split the series.
Will Robertson hit a two-RBI double, his ninth of the season, to drive in two of the four runs. Miguel Hiraldo hit two singles, driving in a run, while Cam Eden also drove in a run with a single. Rafael Lantigua had a two-hit performance, while Riley Tirotta also had a single.
Beau Sulser made the start and had a rough one, giving up nine hits and five earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched. Paxton Schultz struck out four in 3.1 innings pitched, but Erik Swanson gave up a home run. However, all four runs were unearned. Eric Pardinho struck out and walked a batter in an inning and a third, while Connor Cooke walked a batter in a scoreless inning.

New Hampshire move to .500 in the second-half

On Friday, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 3-1 to move to 2-2 in the second-half.
Kekai Rios hit his first home run of the season in the top of the third to give the Fisher Cats an early lead. Alex De Jesus hit his 11th double for two RBI, while Ryan McCarty, Josh Kasevich, and Rainer Nuñez all hit a single.
Trenton Wallace made the start, pitching four scoreless innings with a strikeout and two hits allowed to move his season ERA to 2.65. Abdiel Mendoza pitched two innings with a strikeout and two hits, picking up his 10th decision (6-4 record). Braydon Fisher had a hold, striking out two in an inning of work.
Ryan Boyer had a rough outing, giving up an earned run in a third of an inning pitched, but his season ERA sits at 2.22. Jimmy Burnette picked up his fifth save of the season, striking out two in a clean inning and two thirds.

Vancouver’s win streak hit seven games

The Vancouver Canadians can’t be stopped, as they defeated the Hillsboro Hops 5-2 to move their second-half record to 7-0. The win streak now sits at seven games.
Jackson Hornung was the team’s player of the game, as he had a three-hit performance with his eighth double of the season and his fifth home run of the year. Jean Arnaez also had two singles, while Je’Von Ward and Jeffrey Wehler had singles. In his return off the Injured List, Dasan Brown walked twice and struck out three times.
Carson Pierce made the start, finishing with a line of 3.2 Ip, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K to bring his ERA with Vancouver to 3.96. Alex Amalfi pitched two innings and a third, giving up an earned run and striking out two. Aaron Munson had a hold, with a strikeout and a walk in an inning pitched. Grayson Thurman recorded his third save of the season, striking out two in two innings of work.

FCL Jays finally win

This season hasn’t been kind to the Florida Complex League Jays, but they picked up a 4-3 win over the FCL Tigers on Friday to move their record to 9-31.
Three of the four hits for the team were of the extra-base variety. Kendry Chirinos hit his seventh double of the season, while Railin Tejada and Carlos Vasquez each hit their first triple. Tejada also had a single.
Paolo Espino made a rehab start, striking out five in two innings of work. Eminen Flores finished with a line of 5.2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K to bring his season ERA to 4.40. Julio Ortiz struck out three in an inning and a third.

DSL Jays’ win streak hit eight games

Just like the Vancouver Canadians, the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays can’t stop winning. On Friday, they defeated the DSL Arizona Red 3-2 to bring their record to 13-5.
Sann Omosako started the game for the DSL Jays, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 0.45. Pretty good signing from the Blue Jays. Diego Dominguez finished the last three innings, giving up two earned runs but striking out five.
Offensively, David Beckles hit his first double in the Blue Jays organization and had a multi-hit game, while Yorman Licourt hit his first triple of the season. Angel Guzmán, Randy Soto, Franklin Rojas, Dariel Ramon, and Rafael Flores all hit singles.
