The ’23 Vancouver Canadians were seen doing ’23 Vancouver Canadians things on Wednesday night at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro, Oregon.
In game two of the six-game series against the hometown Hops (High-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks), the C’s had a dominant 8-0 victory on the road, improving to a 2-0 record in the series.  As the score suggests, it was certainly a night for the Vancouver bats, as the team registered 14 hits in the game. However, no one had the game that Michael Turconi had.
Turconi became the second Canadians player this season to hit for the cycle, going 4-for-5 from the dish.  The lefty started his night with a flyout in the first before embracing his inner “Big Al” in the fourth.
Turconi crack a dinger over the right centre field wall for a one-run shot to give the visiting C’s a 1-0 lead.
Vancouver would add to their lead in the 5th inning, after a two-run RBI double from Alex De Jesus, in his first game back off the injured list, would bring home Dasan and Devonte Brown for a 3-0 lead for the red shirts.  After the double from the South Cambie Crusher, Michael Turconi would step back up to the dish, and launch a fly ball deep left for a triple, bringing home De Jesus in the process for a four-zip lead in enemy territory.
Turconi would finish off the cycle with a double in the 7th inning, and a single in the 8th, being the second Canadian to accomplish the feat this season, joining the aforementioned Alex De Jesus, who did it earlier in the Summer.
Vancouver continues the road swing in Hillsboro this afternoon (Like right now, as I’m writing this), with the chance to clinch the series split with a victory.
