The Toronto Blue Jays tend to pick at least one high school player in rounds 11 through 13. In 2025, that prospect was Blaine Bullard.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual mid-season prospect list, where we’ll take a look at the 50 best prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. I’ll look at the player’s stats, what other publications have to say, as well as my own observations of the players.
Bullard won’t make his professional debut until 2026, but there’s a lot to like about the 19-year-old’s game, thus ranking as our 21st-best prospect in the mid-season update. If you missed our 22nd-best prospect, you can read about Lázaro Estrada here.

Getting to know Blaine Bullard…

Position: Outfielder
Bats: Switch
Born: August 16th, 2006
Acquired: 12th round, 2025 MLB Draft
Previous ranking: Unranked
The Blue Jays selected Bullard 352nd overall in the 12th round of the 2025 draft. Like many prep players, Bullard’s high school statistics should be taken with a grain of salt. The outfielder also won’t make his professional debut until sometime in 2026, likely with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays.
A switch-hitter, Bullard recently turned 19 years old and stands at 6’2”, 180 lbs. After the Blue Jays selected him, the two parties agreed to a signing bonus of just under $1.7 million, the largest bonus for a 12th-round pick in history.
The Texas native ranked as MLB Pipeline’s 15th-best Blue Jays prospect in the mid-season update, and opinions are divided on the outfielder. Some believe he has good bat-to-ball skills from the left and right side, while others question how he’ll do against better competition. He’s a ground ball hitter who sprays the ball, but there’s encouraging speed in his bat with projection remaining in his frame.
Although his bat is a question mark, both his hit and power tools are graded at 45; his calling card is speed and defence. Bullard has plus speed and average to above-average fielding. He’ll likely stick at centre field, but is capable of playing at all outfield positions.
It’ll be interesting to see how he develops over the winter, because there’s a lot of potential for the 19-year-old outfielder.
