After their rough in the Bronx that saw them drop three of four, the Blue Jays came home to face the league’s hottest team in the Red Sox. This definitely isn’t a must win series, but it’d be nice to take two of the three so the shitheads don’t come back out of the woodwork.

Things worth mentioning…

Boston came into today with the second most runs scored in the MLB at 124 and JA Happ made them look mortal. He gave up just four hits over seven innings, striking out ten and not walking a hitter. He did give up some loud contact, but most of it was on the ground.
In the third inning, the Blue Jays scored three runs that came by way of a Steve Pearce lead off walk, singles from Curtis Granderson and Russell Martin, and fielder’s choices, with a wild pitch mixed in. Who needs the longball, am I right?
The usually reliable Roberto Osuna gave up two runs and blew the save in the ninth, but because he’s Roberto Osuna, he actually beat the Red Sox before it happened. With two on and two out, Osuna was facing Christian Vazquez. In a 2-2 count, he threw a 98 MPH fastball at the top of the strike zone. What should have ended the game was called ball three.

Vazquez ended up walking and Brock Holt singled next to tie the game, but thankfully the go-ahead run was cut down by Granderson.
Speaking of the Grandy man…
