Blue Jays 7, Rangers 4: They found the bats

After a sluggish showing showing on a cold Saturday night, the Blue Jays rebounded to take the series on Sunday afternoon.
Things worth mentioning…
- Jaime Garcia had another strong start. He went five-and-a-third allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. Most of the damage came when Joey Gallo clubbed a two-run bomb in the sixth inning, but otherwise, the Rangers couldn’t figure Garcia out. Thats back-to-back good outing to kick off his Blue Jays career.
- The bullpen looked a little shaky but they got the job done. Tyler Clippard, Aaron Loup, Ryan Tepera, Seung-hawn Oh, and Roberto Osuna combined to toss three-and-two-thirds allowing just one earned run. That said, those non-Osuna relievers combined to allow four hits and three walks.
- The bats exploded off of Cole Hamels today, driving in seven runs off of Texas’ ace and knocking him out in the sixth inning. Kendrys Morales hit his first bomb of the year in the first inning to give the Jays a quick 4-0 lead.
- Yangervis Solarte had another great day at the plate going two-for-two with two walks. Given the way Devon Travis is struggling, Solarte might be seeing a lot of time at second base. Speaking of struggling, Randal Grichuk put up a goose egg in four at bats, putting his season average at .059.
