Eddie Micheletti Jr. is one of many players drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2024 who have broken out in 2025.
This is Blue Jays Nation’s annual mid-season prospect list, where we’ll take a look at the 50 best prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. I’ll look at the player’s stats, what other publications have to say, as well as my own observations of the players.
In his first full professional season, Micheletti Jr. sits near the top of the Blue Jays’ organization in home runs, thus ranking as our 34th-best prospect in the mid-season update. If you missed our 35th-best prospect, you can read about Adrian Pinto here.
Getting to know Eddie Micheletti Jr…
Position: Outfielder
Bats: Left
Born: December 29, 2001
Acquired: Eighth-round, 2024 draft
Previous ranking: Unranked
Micheletti spent his first three collegiate seasons at George Washington University before transferring to Virginia Tech for his senior year. That season, he slashed .311/.464/.599 with 12 home runs in 240 plate appearances, with a higher BB% (20%) than K% (13.3%). Thanks to a strong performance, the Blue Jays drafted the 6’1”, 220 lbs outfielder in the eighth round of the 2024 draft.
After the draft, Micheletti Jr. was assigned to the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, where he slashed .292/.422/.458 with two home runs in 90 plate appearances for a 156 wRC+. Moreover, he had a high 14.4 BB% while only striking out 15.6% of the time.
As a 23-year-old, Micheletti Jr. has spent the entirety of the 2025 season with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, where he’s slashed .229/.367/.429 with 14 home runs in 419 plate appearances for a 121 wRC+. The outfielder has also walked (16 BB%) than he’s struck out (15.5%), one of many things he’s proven to be good at.
He’s a little bit old for the level, and Double-A will be a test next season, but Micheletti was tied for the most home runs in the Blue Jays’ organization for a significant period of time. Even now, those 14 home runs rank fifth, behind Charles McAdoo, Sean Keys, Yohendrick Piñango, and RJ Schreck. Spoiler alert: all of those players rank in the top 20.
A former catcher, Micheletti Jr. has a strong arm in right field with fringy speed. He has above-average raw power and a good eye at the plate, but his hit tool lags behind and could be exposed when reaching Double-A. Still, there’s a lot to be excited about regarding Micheletti Jr.’s season.
