Left-hander Zach Logue and the Doosan Bears are in agreement on a one-year, $1.1 million contract, a source tells ESPN. Logue, who spent parts of three seasons in MLB, explored returning next year before re-signing with Doosan, where he thrived in his first KBO season in 2025.

A former Toronto Blue Jay will remain in Korea.
Late on Wednesday evening, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that former Blue Jay farmhand Zach Logue has re-signed with Korean Baseball Organization’s Doosan Bears, the team he spent the 2025 season with.
Last season with the Bears, Logue had a 2.81 ERA and 3.22 FIP in 176 innings pitched, with a 21.6 K% and 5.4 BB%. Among qualified pitchers in the KBO, Logue’s ERA ranked as the fifth-best.
The soft-tossing left-handed pitcher was drafted in the ninth round of the 2017 draft by the Blue Jays. He pitched in 30.2 innings after the draft, where he had a 1.47 ERA and 2.27 FIP. Overall the next three seasons, Logue was solid, but became a prospect worth monitoring in 2021.
Beginning the post-pandemic season with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Logue had a 4.54 ERA and 3.51 FIP in seven starts, seeing his K% jump to 35.9% while his BB% of 4.9% was the best of his career. The lefty didn’t find quite the same success after a promotion to Triple-A that season, posting a 3.32 ERA and 3.56 FIP in 89.1 innings pitched with a 25.2 K% and 5.4 BB%, but it was a great season overall.
So much so that the Blue Jays were able to trade him, Kirby Snead, Gunnar Hoglund, and Kevin Smith to the Oakland Athletics for Matt Chapman in March 2022. Logue made his big league debut that season and pitched for the Detroit Tigers in 2023 and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024, but has a 7.20 ERA and 5.72 FIP in 70 big league innings.
While Logue explored an MLB return, it evidently didn’t materialize, which is a bit different for other former Blue Jays who pitched overseas last season. Anthony Kay signed with the Chicago White Sox earlier this off-season, while Foster Griffin signed with the Washington Nationals recently. Both former Blue Jays’ pitchers played in Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan.
The Blue Jays also signed a player from overseas, agreeing to a three-year deal worth $30 million with Cody Ponce, who’s 1.89 ERA led qualified pitchers in the KBO. Funnily enough, former Blue Jays Mitch White and Hyun Jin Ryu also ranked in the top 10, as the former had a 2.87 ERA (tied for sixth) and the latter had a 3.23 ERA (ninth).
It’s not hard to envision Logue and even White getting another opportunity in the big leagues at some point in the future.
