GDB 133.0: Blue Jays look to avoid dropping third consecutive series

This homestand hasn’t gone as planned for the Toronto Blue Jays.
They came home after losing two of three in Baltimore to the Orioles and entered what was supposed to be a soft part of their schedule. After losing two of three to the Cleveland Guardians, the Blue Jays now need to win Wednesday’s rubber match with the Washington Nationals in order to earn a split in this six-game homestand.
Chris Bassitt will start for the Blue Jays while Patrick Corbin will go for the Nationals.
Having pitched for the New York Mets last season, Bassitt is familiar with the Mets. He faced them twice last season and shut them out over 13 innings of work. Meanwhile, this will be the first time Corbin has faced the Blue Jays since 2016 when he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The lefty has a 4.70 ERA for the season but has put together three quality starts in his last four outings.
