A team in the Blue Jays’ farm system has just one more game remaining.
In this edition of the Minor League Report, we’ll look at the results from the past two days, as all four “A” affiliates were in action on Sunday, while the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays played their penultimate game on Monday.
Let’s dig into all of that in the latest Minor League Report!
Buffalo won thanks to late runs
The Buffalo Bisons and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders were tied at five heading into the top of the ninth, before the Bisons scored two and closed out the game, winning 7-5. With the win, they’re now on a two-game win streak and have a 19-26 record on the season.
Alan Roden is heating up quite a bit in recent times and he hit his fifth home run of the season with the Bisons. Now with 12 home runs on the season, Roden has added to his career-best total. Moreover, he had a three hit game thanks to a double and a single.
Josh Kasevich also had a three-hit day thanks to three singles, while Luis De Los Santos had a two-hit performance with a double and a single. Damiano Palmegiani and Max McDowell also had a double.
Paolo Espino had the start and pitched a quality start, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. First out of the bullpen was Andrew Bash, who gave up two earned runs in an inning and thirds. Mason Fluharty was tagged with the blown save and the win, pitching a third of an inning with an earned run given up. José Cuas picked up the save, pitching a clean inning.
New Hampshire fell 4-2
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ rough season continued, as they fell 4-2 to the Reading Fightin Phils to bring their second-half record to 14-28. They are now on a three-game losing streak and are 3-7 in their last 10.
RJ Schreck is looking like a terrific pick up, as he hit his third home run of the season with the Fisher Cats. Moreover, he hit a triple and now has eight extra-base hits in 57 plate appearances. Andrés Sosa hit his sixth double of the season and had a three-hit game, while Yohendrick Piñango, Ryan McCarty, and Michael Turconi each hit a single.

Dahian Santos and CJ Van Eyk both appear to be relief pitchers now, as they each pitched an inning. Santos walked a batter in a scoreless inning, while Van Eyk gave up an earned run and three hits in his inning of work.
Vancouver won the series against Spokane
Spokane has been a thorn in the side of the Vancouver Canadians’ season all year long. However, the Canadians picked up a 9-4 win against the first-half winners and the second-half leaders, moving their second-half record to 29-19, a game behind Spokane.
Jackson Hornung hit his sixth home run of the season, as well as his 18th double of the year. In his professional debut, Alex Stone hit a double and had a multi-hit game, while Adrian Pinto hit another double, his sixth in just 43 plate appearances with the Canadians. Jace Bohrofen had two singles, while Je’Von Ward and Peyton Williams each had a single.
Here's Jackson Hornung's sixth home run of the season from yesterday evening.

Geison Urbaez, Grayson Thurman, and Kai Peterson each pitched a scoreless inning as well, with only Peterson striking out a batter, retiring two via the punch out.
Dunedin fell in a low-scoring affair
Thanks to a 2-1 loss to the Bradenton Marauders on Sunday, the Dunedin Blue Jays are now on a two-game losing streak with a 23-23 record. They are seven games behind the division-leading Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
The D-Jays registered six hits, with Arjun Nimmala hitting his 15th double in Single-A, while 2024 draftee Brock Tibbitts hit his second double. Tibbitts, along with Edward Duran, had a multi-hit game, while the rehabbing Jaden Rudd hit a single.

The team had two extra-base hits, as Franklin Rojas and Andres Arias each hit a double, the latter hitting his sixth double in 69 plate appearances. Rojas had a multi-hit game, as did Aldo Gaxiola, while Juarlin Soto, Rafael Flores, and Jarold Montealto each had a single. Randy Soto didn’t have an at bat, as he walked twice in two plate appearances.
