As you know, the Toronto Blue Jays made a ton of trades at the trade deadline.
One of those prospects the Blue Jays acquired made a good first impression, as four of the five affiliates in action on Tuesday picked up a win.
Let’s dig into all of that in the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo blown out

The Buffalo Bisons were the only affiliate to lose on Tuesday, as they fell 11-6 to the Worcester Red Sox. Their second-half record now sits at 11-17.
With that being said, the bats had a solid day, as Daminao Palmegiani hit his 13 home run with the Bisons, as well as his 15th of the season, moving into a tie for second in the organization. Jonatan Clase had his first hit in the organization, a single, while Rafael Lantigua, Riley Tirotta, Cam Eden, and Miguel Hiraldo each had a single as well. Alan Roden had a multi-hit game with two singles, while Palmegiani also had a single.
It was a rough game for Buffalo’s pitching, as Paxton Schultz finished with a line of 3.2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K to bring his season ERA to 5.05. Troy Watson was tagged with the loss, giving up three earned runs in two innings of work, along with three strikeouts. Braydon Fisher made his Triple-A debut in the Jays’ system, giving up two unearned runs in an inning of work. Hayden Juenger gave up an earned run in an inning and a third.

New Hampshire shuts out Binghamton

After suffering so many shutouts in recent times, it was nice to see the New Hampshire Fisher Cats pick up a shutout of their own, defeating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 6-0. Their season record now sits at 8-19.
Alex De Jesus had a great game, as he had two hits, with one being his 15th double of the season. Cade Doughty’s bat has turned around in recent times, as he hit his first triple at the level. Devonte Brown, Josh Kasevich, Gabriel Martinez, and Andrés Sosa each had a single.
Nick Fraze started, striking out five in five innings, giving up just one hit. Fraze’s ERA in Double-A sits at 0.98, while his season ERA is 2.83.  Hunter Gregory pitched three innings, striking out four and walking two. Jimmy Burnette finished the game, walking a batter in his inning of work.

Vancouver gets back on track with a shutout win

Last week was a rough one for the Vancouver Canadians, as they lost five of six to the Hillsboro Hops. Well, they got back on track, as they defeated the Tri-City Dust Devils 2-0 to move their overall record to 49-45.
There was no bigger hit than Jacob Sharp’s first home run with the Canadians, as it gave them a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth. He was acquired in the Yimi García trade. Peyton Williams hit his seventh double of the season, along with a single, while Dasan Brown hit his 14th double of the season. Jace Bohrofen had the other hit.
Pat Gallagher had a great start for the Canadians, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K to bring his season ERA to 4.48. Alex Amalfi struck out five in three innings of work, while Chay Yeager picked up the save, striking out a batter in his inning of work.

Dunedin won in extra

The Dunedin Blue Jays headed to extra-innings, and prevailed thanks to a two-run 10th inning, knocking off the Daytona Tortugas. Their second-half record now sits at 15-15, 4.5 games behind the leading Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
There were only extra-base hits from the D-Jays, as Drew Jemison and Jean Joseph each hit a double. Other players with a hit were Yhoangel Aponte, Manuel Beltre, Yeuni Munoz, and Aaron Parker. Selected in the sixth-round of the 2024 draft, this was Parker’s debut game.
Ryan Watson made the start for the D-Jays, finishing with a line of 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (2 R), 3 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 3.06. Nate Garkow picked up the win, pitching three innings with six strikeouts, while Eliander Alcalde picked up his third save of the season, allowing an unearned run in extras.

DSL Jays won their second straight game

The streaky Dominican Summer League Jays won their second consecutive game, defeating the DSL White Sox 3-2 to move to 23-16 for the season.
Andres Arias hit his second double of the season, his second in as many games. Yorman Licourt hit his eighth double of the season, while Pascual Archila had three hits, including his fourth double of the year. Other players with a hit were Franklin Rojas and Aldo Gaxiola.
Silvano Hechavarría started the game for the DSL Jays, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER (1 R), 1 BB, 4 K to bring his season ERA to 2.12. Edgar Gallegos pitched two innings, giving up four hits and an earned run. Ramon Suarez picked up the save, striking out three in two innings of work, bringing his season ERA to 0.87.
